Dekton BladeHow Do I Choose Dekton Cutting Blades
Dekton Blade is developed for the features of high brittleness of sintered stone and easy chipping during cutting. It is very sharp and minimizes the chipping.   In this article, we will learn the selection of diamond dekton blade for sintered stone by the understanding of the concept of sintered stone and the notices of cutting technology of sintered stone.

1.The manufactureand application of dekton stone

Its production raw materials are mainly quartz, feldspar, and oxides with colors. It is sintered at a high temperature above 1200°C. It features high density and heavy weight. Its physical properties such as wear resistance and bending resistance are better than that of ceramic tiles.   Sintered stone brands are Dekton, Lapitec, DuraLosa, Neolith. From the perspective of production equipment, craftsmanship and product appearance, the sintered stone and ceramic tiles have similarities, but there are different for the internal physical properties. The main characteristics of sintered stone are large, light and thin. Compared with ceramic tiles, they are more fire resistant, high temperature resistant, stain resistant, corrosion resistant and zero penetration. The sintered stone are formed at high temperature with Moh’s hardness level 6. With scratch resistant, abrasion resistant and rich and delicate sintered stone texture, it makes the sintered stone used in cabinets and furniture prominent and durable.

2 Cutting technology of sintered stone

One of the biggest problems of dekton stone is the brittleness, which is chipping, falling corners, and bursting during cutting. It has great impact on the yield of dekton stone and production efficiency. Therefore, it is necessary to pay attention to the selection of technologies and blades when cutting dekton stone products, reducing the bursting, fracture, edge collapse and corner drop, improving the qualification rate and the yield rate of sintered stone products.   Cutting technology of sintered stone

2.1 Selection of the counter top of bridge cutting machine

Due to the brittleness of dekton stone, the requirements for the counter top of bridge cutting machine are very high. The counter top should be basically level and flat, no pits, no grooves. Especially for cutting thin plates with the thickness of less than 10mm, it is higher for the requirements. If the table top of the bridge cutting machine is wooden, pay attention to the connection gap between the wooden side of the table top not to be in line with the diamond bridge saw blade or perpendicular to the dekton cutting blade. It should be an oblique angle of 45° to avoid the chipping or even bursting on the bottom of the sintered stone slab when cutting the sintered stone slab and it happens to cut to the connecting seam. When there are too many saw seams on the surface of the wooden table top, smooth it in time to eliminate saw grooves. Selection of the counter top of bridge cutting machine

2.2 Selection of dekton blade

Everyone knows that in order to minimize the damage to materials, whether it is for cutting granite, marble, or ceramic tiles, there are special saw blades. These diamond bridge saw blades are made according to the characteristics of various materials. There is different from the hardness of granite and marble, the hardness of granite is higher, and the hardness of marble is relatively low. The sharp diamond saw blades with high hardness are used for cutting granite. The Mohs hardness of sintered stone is 6 to 7 levels, and that of high quality of sintered stone can even reach 9 levels. Therefore, high hardness diamond saw blades are used for cutting dekton sintered stone slab. If the dekton blade with insufficient hardness are used, not only the sintered stone slab cannot be cut, but also damage the sintered stone slab and saw blades. Therefore, need to use dekton cutting blades for sintered stone to avoid crack. Once the sharpness of the sintered stone diamond bridge saw blades decreases, need to replace the dekton blade in time. Selection of dekton blade Sintered stone diamond bridge saw blades are made according to the special materials of sintered stone. The proportion of pre-alloyed powder, the grade of diamond grain size, sintered technology, straight cutting or chamfering, all need to be customized. 2.3. Keep the dekton blade sharp   Before using the dekton blade, it is sharpened with refractory bricks like diamond saw blade for natural stone, so that the diamond on the dekton blade is exposed and the sharpness is improved. As the dekton blade cuts for a period of time, the cutting efficiency of the dekton blade is significantly reduced, and when the sound of spikes is emitted, use refractory bricks to sharpen the dekton blade. Only the dekton cutting blade is sharp, and the cutting efficiency can be high, and chipping, falling corners and bursting in the process of cutting can be reduced.

2.4Control of cutting speed for sintered stone

In the process of cutting the dekton sintered stone, the bridge machine should not be fast like cutting the natural stone slab, and it will make a heart-wrenching sound. The faster the cutting speed, the bigger the impact on the sintered stone, and the more likely it is that the sintered stone will collapse, drop corners, burst under the action of strong impact. The operator should pay attention to the cutting speed on the carton. Control of cutting speed for sintered stone

2.5. Cut largest specification first, and then small specification

Cut the largest size product first, and then cut the small size product. This is one of the most basic principles for cutting sintered stone. But much bridge machine may not follow such a principle. Cut products with uniform size and large quantity first, and then cut small quantity products. The prerequisite for this is that there is no scrap or wrong size during the cutting process. If cut the small size product first, once cut the large size wrong, or the sintered stone slab bursts when cutting, and then the sintered stone slab cannot be used to cut small size products. The sintered stone slabs can only be scrapped. Cut largest specification first, and then small specification

2.6.Top or hold

When cutting, the workers should observe the dynamics of the sintered stone slab, and find out the abnormal phenomenon in the sintered stone slabs, and adopt some simple and practical methods to prevent the bursting suddenly when it is cut to the end, and falling the corners or cracking. Once it happens, find a small piece of dekton sintered stone slab or wooden slab against the sintered stone slab that will be cut. Or put a piece of sintered stone slab with the width of 100mm and the length of about 200mm at the point where the blade is drawn, and against the end face of the sintered stone that is to be cut.

2.7Correct method of unloading the slabs

Some sintered stone slabs are flexible and easy to bend and deformed, and the sizes are large, therefore, pay attention to the correct method of the dekton stone slabs that are removed from the machine table. The dekton stone slab can be removed from the machine top table by humans as much as possible, and use less lifting clamps. Especially for the sintered stone cut, if lifted with a lifting clamp, the strength is not controlled, or it is easy to crack the slab from the cut if swaying from side to side during the hoisting process. Dekton Cutting Blades It is better to move the sintered stone slab to stand up, which can reduce the bending deformation during the handling process, and then may cause the fracture of the sintered stone slab. It is better to have one person at the opening to protect the stone slab moving, or adopt some special equipment for stone handing to prevent cracking from the opening .

2.8 Correct placement method

The transfer rack for placing sintered stone slab should be elongated, and the length is longer than 2000mm, and the height of the arm is not less than 1000mm. Because the specifications of sintered stone slab are very large, if not use elongated metal rack, they will cause the sintered stone to crack and the slab overturned when transporting.   The correct placing order of sintered stone slab is that the large-size products is put at the back and small-size and long-strip products at the front, and put the thick wooden or slate behind the L-shaped iron rack. Especially pay attention to the placement of small-strip sintered stone to prevent the sintered stone slabs from being crushed in the vacancy of the iron frame. Cut largest specification first, and then small specification   When cutting the sintered stone slab, follow the above mentioned points, it will be possible to greatly reduce the damage rate of the sintered stone slab, increase the qualification rate of the product, and improve the production efficiency and product quality.
