3 Best Experience Sharing of Sintered Stone Cutting

3 Experience Sharing of Sintered Stone Cutting

The sintered stone cutting is an important part of the sintered stone processing technology. The quality of the cutting affects the aesthetics of the sintered stone, and has an impact of the following paving process. This article is based on the actual cutting experience to share with readers.

With the rapid development of sintered stone and product sales increasing, the demand for cutting and the deep processing of various types of home furnishing are also increasing, and there are more and more processing problems. At the same time, processing technology has also been improved. The following is the cutting experience.

Sintered stone cutting and processing

1.Before processing,

We should check the processing method from the technical parameter table. Cut and process the product according to the selected installation method.

When designing kitchen sintered stone countertops, keep at least 50mm from the side of countertops on which there are holes or grooves. Keep at least 50mm between two adjacent openings.

Selection of the counter top of bridge cutting machine

For the design of inner corners and openings, it likes the treatment of stone, marble, and there is an arc length of at least 5mm radius around each corner to reduce the pressure.

The interior corner of right angle can be cut directly by a water jet, but it is not recommended. Because this interior corner design can increase the risk of the countertop cracking, and then affect the rest of the kitchen during processing, handling, transportation and installation

Keep the margin of at least 2mm to avoid the effect of expansion when quality inspecting of the sink or stove.

Chamfer the edge of the hole in the sintered stone of 18mm when inserting into the sink.

Seal by the special glue or silicone resin or similar products when inserting the prefabricated sink or stove.

Use one or two support pillar to support the built-in sink to avoid overstressing the countertop.

When installing the cooking table, keep the distance of 2-3mm from the wall.

When designing an “L”-shaped countertop, the straight style is best. The special glue is used to bond the joints when installing. The angled bonding ways are not recommended.

Check that the directional texture of the bonding is consistent to ensure the best bonding effect.

The diamond saw blade for sintered stone or water jet cutting machine is used for cutting sintered stone. The straight-line cutting machine for flat glass can also be used.  The equipment for quartz can be used for sintered stone, but saw blade need to be replaced with the sintered stone(dekton cutting blade.(refer to How Do I Choose Dekton Cutting Blades ?)

2.Before cutting, check the cutting machine, especially in the following:

Cutting machine should be suitable for sintered stone products and perform well.

The machine table should be clean, durable, solid and without damage.

2. Before cutting, check the cutting machine, especially in the following:

The machine table must be clean, durable, solid and free from damage.

The machine table should be perfectly level.

There is no previous waste and the machine table surface should be in good condition.

Therefore, it is recommended that the operator do the testing and make actual adjustments before cutting to achieve the best results.

If you are not satisfied with the cutting effect, or there are cracks on the sintered stone during the cutting, it may be caused by the feed speed, operator pressure, improper rotation speed, uneven cutting table, or movement or vibration of sintered stone, and etc.

After finishing the processing, care should be taken when handling the sintered stone, especially there are openings or holes in the middle of the sintered stone. When manual vertical movement and handling, operators should be careful.

3.Diamond saw blade for sintered stone is used on cutting machine.

Both U-shaped saw blades and toothless saw blades can be used.

The sintered stone should be fed in the same direction as the sintered stone cutting blade rotates.

The cut opening is proportional to the thickness of the diamond saw blades.

3. Diamond saw blade for sintered stone is used on cutting machine.

Before cutting, check the cutting machine, the table should be in good performance, flat, perfectly level, and no waste.

The smaller the saw blade radius, the higher the spindle speed is. The slower the feed speed, the better the cutting effect.

The slow feed rate ensures the edge beveling is reduced.

Feed and output speed should always be 50% slower than rated speed.

The right direction and right amount of water.

The sintered stone saw blade(dekton cutting blade) should be exposed as little as possible, exceeding the thickness of the sintered stone slab by at least 1mm.

The lower the vibration during the cutting operation, the better the effect is. To reduce vibration, put a piece of disposable wood or rubber-based (eg. Vulcanized rubber) plate under the sintered stone slab.

After debugging the machine, it can cut the sintered stone slab diagonally. In order to make two sintered stone slabs spliced and cut at 45°, chamfer the cutting edge.

When cutting at 45°, the miter dekton bridge saw blade can be used to reduce vibration during cutting and reduce the risk of smashing the sintered stone slabs.

When making “L”-shaped cutting, first find an angle to punch a small round hole, and then make a straight cut. The part close to the round hole needs to be manually treated with angle grinder. The surface that cannot be hit by the angle grinder also needs to be polished with a diamond hand polishing pads.

After finishing each processing, clean the dust left by the sintered stone processing with clean water before the finished products drying. After a series of sintered stone cutting, do the maintenance with alumina or quartz for the sintered stone cutting disc.
